Is a shooting brake a 2-door wagon?

I dunno. All the “sub categories ” of cars like fastbacks v coupes , shooting brakes v wagons , liftbacks v hatchbacks kinda confuse me at times.

I saw a Pinto Cruiser Wagon for sale by my house complete with little porthole window . Groovy.

Awesome. My dad used to have a 74 Pinto wagon in dark green. 4 cylinder with a 4 speed manual. It was freaking sweet. But not as nice as this one (LOOK AT THOSE SEATS) :

cool - that was probably just about the fanciest “ Pinto” you could buy...

And it’s RWD too

The wood the green, and the yellow plaid. Oh so bad. It’s so good

Canada-spec Bobcat Villager, maybe a 74?
I don’t hate these.

‘76 Pinto

I’m not sure it’s cut and dried
.

I thought it was a Bobcat until fintail mentioned the Villager and Canadian thing. TIL.

Loaded. Why wouldn’t you want it?

That’s the basis car, but Canada got a Mercury badged car with a Pinto grille.

You probably would hate it if you had to daily drive one.

The badge on the front clearly states ‘Mercury’.

I don’t recognize Canada.

FORD

Nope... it’s a higher-quality Mercury.
It’s a premium product compared to the plebeian
Ford...

“I don’t recognize Canada.”
Well dammit... if you just visited more often, you’d have less trouble recognizing
it.

I suspect vice versa is also true :)

Good point. I don’t mind looking at them anyway.
When I was a very little kid, my grandma had a later run Pinto, the kind with the large glass rear hatch. I was somewhat embarrassed to ride in it, for some reason - maybe someone in the family mocked it, even though it wasn’t too old then. She replaced it with a Cavalier.

Nissan Versa’s also don’t recognize Canada?

Canadians prefer the Micra, I think.

I drove one once, back in the ‘80s. It was in perfect shape, but such a piece of garbage compared to the VW Dasher I dailied back then. It might be good to look at, but is true malaise at its core.
